SITEBUDGETLAB

Editorial policy

Useful explanations with evidence behind them.

Purpose and audience

We publish for people planning or operating a small website who need to understand costs, ownership and maintenance. A page should answer a specific decision, show its assumptions and leave the reader with a practical next step. We do not publish pages solely to target a search phrase or create superficial variations of an existing answer.

Sources and examples

We prefer official documentation, regulator or standards material and provider price pages for factual claims. Guides link supporting sources where a reader can verify time-sensitive details. Illustrative budgets are labelled as examples; they are not presented as surveys, market averages or observed customer results.

Calculation review

A calculator must state its formula, units and material exclusions. We test expected inputs, zero values and invalid ranges before publication. A lower calculated price is not described as a better service unless independent evidence supports the wider conclusion. Readers are reminded to compare equivalent scope and current contract terms.

Writing and automation

AI tools may assist drafting, structure and code development. Responsibility for selection, checking and publication remains with the operator. We do not invent first-hand experience, professional credentials, customers, usage statistics or product test results. Automated output is not published as evidence.

Review and corrections

Content is reviewed before publication for clarity, source support, consistent arithmetic and the distinction between cash expense and planning estimates. The updated date reflects a material revision, not an automatic daily refresh. Price tables display a specific check date and are reviewed when a material change is reported or during scheduled maintenance.

Send a correction through the contact page, including the page address, disputed detail and a supporting source when available. Confirmed material errors are corrected and checked against related pages. We retain content revisions internally so changes can be audited.

Commercial independence

A recommendation should follow the reader’s requirements rather than the commission available. Sponsored or affiliate content must be labelled near the relevant recommendation. Commercial relationships cannot silently change calculator formulas or editorial ordering. The domain table ranks only the listed numerical cost; it does not claim a registrar is the best overall.

Limits

SiteBudgetLab provides general educational information, not personalised legal, tax, financial, security or purchasing advice. Provider services and requirements change. Readers should verify the current offer and seek qualified help where the decision requires it.
